Happy New Year from Rebel Lens Films!! The closing of an old decade brings on new challenges but the same old HUSTLE in 2020!!
Rebel Lens Films closed out the decade with another win for our short film “KAREN” at the “SCARED for your LIIFE” Film Festival. Our lead actress Joy Shatz won the coveted “SCREAM QUEEN” award for Best Actress! We also got to catch up with fellow filmmaker/winner Lukas Hassel, our friend we met at ARFF this past summer.
Rebel Lens also made an appearance at the 2019 CHANNY Awards presented by Channel 101 NY. RLF was nominated in a couple categories for “STAKEOUT”, along with Dan MacNamara‘s “Wish Weasel” which swept the awards, including “BEST SERIES”! Also winning that night were Joe Bonacci for his hilarious “CAT STICKERS”, Tabitha Vidaurri, and Anthony Giordano/Artie Brennan too. A great night, lots of laughs with friends/collaborators!
As we head into 2020 RLF is diving in head first. “The Improviser”, RLF’s 1st feature film, is in the editing bay still as we get closer to trimming and tightening our edit. It’s a process but will ultimately be a rewarding one once we finish our feature to be unleashed on the world!
The newest project will be a new web-series that starts production in February with collaborator Jason Messina, and will be out of this world (hint, hint)!!
